Kenya-Senegal 8-0 scoreline and other clashes that defied the scoreboard in November 2025

By , November 19, 2025

The 8-0 humiliation of Harambee Stars at the hands of former African champions, Senegal, in a friendly match played on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Antalya, Turkey, has left fans and football stakeholders reeling.

A dominant display from Pape Thiaw’s side saw the Teranga Lions coast to a six-goal lead before halftime, before more goals sealed Benni McCarthy’s chastening defeat at the helm of Kenya.

Stars were, however, not the only ones to suffer embarrassing defeats, with other shocking results being witnessed across the friendly and competitive games staged across the globe.

Scoreline-defying losses

Among the other scorelines that defied the scores is the Comoros vs. Namibia tie, which ended in a four-goal rout for the hosts.

The Islanders stepped up their preparations for next year’s AFCON competition with a convincing win.

Uganda and Somalia suffer defeats

Kenya’s neighbours, Uganda, were also on the wrong end of a four-goal scoreline, losing 4-0 to former continental champions, Morocco.

Somalia also suffered a 6-0 loss to Bahrain on November 17 in a clash staged at the Bahrain National Stadium, Riffa.

Bahrain overwhelmed Somalia with a second-half barrage, including a hat-trick from Ali Madan.

A number of World Cup qualifiers pitting European sides also produced the scores as the first round games went down on Tuesday.

UEFA qualifiers defeats

Among the standout results was Romania’s 7-1 thrashing of the little-known island of San Marino in the first round of the UEFA qualification.

A similar scoreline was witnessed in Wales’ home win against North Macedonia as Liechtenstein fell to a 7-1 defeat away to Wales.

In the Asian Cup: Qualification: 3rd Round, Yemen made light work of Bhutan, dispatching the tiny country in a 7-1 scoreline.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan also have a game to forget in the continental test matches, losing 0-4 and 0-5, respectively, against Thailand and Syria.

Japan also cruised to an easy victory, dispatching Bolivia 4-1 in a lopsided encounter.

Goals from Takefusa Kubo (22′), Kaoru Mitoma (45+1′), Ao Tanaka (62′), and Kyogo Furuhashi (78′) did the work for the Asian side.

Bolivia’s late consolation came from Marcelo Martins (85′), but they were outclassed in the crucial test match ahead of their South American qualifiers.
