Kenya Rugby Union set to hire Fixtures Administrator
By Collins Amanga, June 12, 2023The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has announced that it is seeking to fill the position of Fixtures Administrator.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the management of domestic leagues and overall match fixtures, reporting directly to the Director of Rugby.

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications no later than 23rd June 2023 to the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Rugby Union via email at ceo@kru.co.ke.
The Fixtures Administrator will be responsible for various operational tasks, including analyzing day-to-day operations, match allocations, expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenues of all competitions.
They will be required to compile and analyze season information to prepare annual fixtures, ensure compliance with policies and procedures for maintaining match records, and meet all match record deadlines.

“The Board of the Union is desirous of filling the position of the Fixtures Administrator, reporting to the Director of Rugby for the effective overall management of the domestic leagues and overall fixtures. The candidate shall be responsible for the continuous management of rugby match fixtures, and player databases and advising KRU on match allocations and expenditure trends on matches,” the Union statement reads.
National 7s draws
Additionally, the chosen candidate will handle the preparation and management of tournament draws for the National Sevens Circuit, resolve discrepancies and irregularities in match reports, and provide continuous support for office administrative issues. They will also develop and maintain player databases after player registrations from all teams, ensure accurate organization of international matches and local events hosted by the Kenya Rugby Union, and provide strategic recommendations for efficient resource utilization.
Other responsibilities include maintaining the annual disciplinary roll, serving sanctions as required, serving as the Tournament Director for local events and the National Sevens Circuit, and performing any other duties assigned by the Union.
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Science, or a related field from a recognized university, along with at least two years of experience in a similar position.
Strong report writing, communication, and computer skills are essential, as is an excellent understanding of KRU’s constitution, regulations, and World Rugby regulations. The successful candidate must demonstrate high levels of etiquette, customer service, and organizational skills.
2023 KRU calendar
The vacancy advertisement comes less than a month before the 2023 National 7s Circuit event scheduled to start in July.
The circuit kicks off on July 1 and 2 with the Dala 7s tournament in Kisumu, where teams from all over Kenya will converge to battle it out on the field. This will be followed by the renowned Driftwood 7s in Mombasa on July, 8 and 9.

There will be a break to pave the way for the World Junior Trophy scheduled for July 15-30 at Nyayo Stadium.
Nakuru town will then host the third leg of the circuit on August 5 and 6, with the Prinsloo 7s set to deliver another weekend of scintillating rugby action. Rugby fans in Nairobi can mark their calendars for the Christie 7s, scheduled for August 12 and 13.
The George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial 7s, taking place on August 19 and 20 in Nairobi, will provide a fitting penultimate round to the circuit with the newly introduced Tisap 7s tournament in Eldoret set to serve as the final tournament of 2023. Tisap 7s was set to be the opener of the Circuit but was rescheduled.
After the 7s campaign, the fixtures administrator will have a task in the longer version of the game with the 15s matches expected to make a return in 2023 with the Kenya Cup, Eric Shirley Shield, KRU Championship and KRU Nationwide.
