Kenya Lionesses coach Mwanja wins inaugural tacticians’ monthly prize

Kenya Lionesses head coach Dennis Mwanja (pictured) has been named the inaugural Coach of the Month award winner after he was selected as the top tactician in November 2022.

Mwanja, who doubles up as the KCB assistant coach led the national women’s 15-aside team to win the Africa Cup title Pool B in Kampala, after beating hosts Uganda and Zambia.

Speaking after receiving the award yesterday, Mwanja said,

“I am extremely humbled to win the inaugural award of the coach of the month edition. For so many years fellow tacticians have been trading their skills with no recognition but it is quite a pleasant surprise to be honoured with this award.”

Mwanja is the first winner of the Star Times Kenya sponsored awards in conjunction with Sports Journalists Association of Kenya.

StarTimes Media Kenya Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hanson Wang welcomed the commencement of the new Monthly Award which targets to create the much-needed competitive sporting environment that will motivate tacticians to raise the bar for quality coaching.
