Kenya 7s World Series qualifiers schedule in Madrid

Kenya 7s are slated to take part in the HSBC SVNS Play-Offs in Madrid as they go in search of promotion back to the world series stage.
Shujaa lost their core status in the series in the 2023 playoffs in London, losing 12-7 to a Darmian McGrath coached Canada, who will also be taking part in this year’s playoffs.
The event will pit the last four teams from the HSBC SVNS 2024 season, including the USA, Spain, Samoa, and Canada, against the top four teams from the World Rugby HSBC Sevens Challenger 2024.
Kenya 7s in Pool B
Kenya 7s are placed in Pool B alongside Spain, Samoa, and Chile while Pool A will see USA face off against Canada, Uruguay, and Germany.
The winners and runners-up from each pool will advance to the semifinals, consequently earning a spot in the 2025 event.
The USA come into the playoffs after finishing ninth in the league phase with 52 while Spain who narrowly avoided the playoffs last year, are participants this year following a 10th place finish on 36 points.
Samoa makes its playoff debut after finishing 11th with 29 points, while Canada, previous year’s playoff victors, returns after placing last in the 2024 season.
They will be joined by the top four Challenger Series teams, where Uruguay presently top the pack with 58 points followed by Kenya 7s who are on 48 points. Chile and Germany finished third and fourth respectively to qualify for the competition
The top four teams from the promotion/relegation playoffs will earn qualification for The 2025 World SVNS Series.
The competition will run simultaneously with the HSBC SVNS Grand Final where men’s 2024 League Winners Argentina in Pool A together with Australia, France and Great Britain. League runners up Ireland are in Pool B alongside 2023 Series winners New Zealand, double Olympic Champions Fiji and South Africa.
