Kariobangi Sharks hold AFC Leopards, Bidco whitewash Muhoroni Youth

AFC Leopards failed to make it two consecutive wins after they were held to a goalless draw by Kariobangi Sharks in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
Ingwe were hoping to pick up their second win of the season following a previous victory against Nzoia Sugar, but they could not find a way past Sharks.
Both sides struggled to penetrate each other’s defense lines and ended up sharing points from the stalemate at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Luke Namanda would have given Ingwe the lead in the 20th minute, but even though he managed to beat his opponent, he was unable to find the back of the net, with Bernard Jairo in Sharks’ goal producing a superb save.
There was another opportunity for the giants to take the lead in the 84th minute, but Jairo was alert again to deny Brian Yakhama, the scorer of the goal against Nzoia Sugar.
This was the best opportunity for AFC Leopards to score after Victor Omune, who was making his full return from injury, found Yakhama with a perfect chance, but the former Nzoia Sugar forward could not break the deadlock and thus wasted the chance.
Nzoia, Talanta share points
Meanwhile, Talanta and Nzoia Sugar ended up sharing points following a 0-0 draw at Ruaraka Ground.
Both sides had earlier opportunities but could not score; Mohammed Barasa of Nzoia Sugar saw his effort stopped by Talanta’s goalkeeper Isaiah Wakasala before Talanta’s Kevintom Machika equally had his low shot stopped by Benson Mangala in Nzoia’s goal.
There were two chances again to break the deadlock late in the second half, but they were not converted into goals. With only Mangala to beat, Alfred Tanui blasted his effort wide and wasted Talanta’s chance.
Mangala saved the day for Nzoia when he managed to parry away a shot from close range from Alex Sunga.
Muhoroni Youth outclassed
At Kasarani Annex, Bidco United managed a 3-0 win over Muhoroni Youth. The goals were scored by Eric Michibu, Chris Opondo, and Thomas Wainana in the sixth, 27th, and 30th minutes.
Finally, Murang’a Seal managed a narrow 2-1 win over Nairobi City Stars, while Bandari picked up three points courtesy of a 3-2 win over Kenya Police.
