Kapaito eyeing more goals as Tusker face AFC Leopards

By , March 9, 2024

Tusker FC‘s prolific striker, Eric Kapaito, remains humble despite his recent surge in scoring form in the FKF Premier League, emphasizing the need for continuous improvement.

With eight goals to his name this season, Kapaito acknowledges his current success but believes there is still room for growth as he sets his sights on clinching his third FKF Premier League Golden Boot.

Kapaito’s effort

“I think I am somewhere, and making some effort, but I believe there is a need for more improvement. I can do more,” Kapaito told Tusker Media.

While celebrating his achievements, Kapaito spoke on the importance of contributing to the team’s success, highlighting that scoring goals means little if it doesn’t translate into wins for Tusker FC.

“I am happy so far because the scoring touch is coming in well and the best part is that the team is winning. It wouldn’t be good if I am scoring and the team is not doing well. positive contribution is helping the team do well and I am hoping to do more,” he pointed out.

Currently trailing three goals behind the league’s top scorer, Benson Omalla of Gor Mahia, Kapaito remains confident in his ability to close the gap and compete for the coveted Golden Boot award.

Sitting in fourth place in the scorers’ standings, Kapaito is determined to maintain his scoring momentum and aims to surpass his rivals.

“As a striker of course your job is to score and the chase for individual awards always gives you some motivation for the season. Winning a third would be great and of course, I am working toward that,” Kapaito noted.

Kapaito ahead of Leopards match
