With two crucial matches on the horizon for Gor Mahia in their pursuit of the FKF Premier League title, one of the club’s passionate fans, Jaro Soja, has made a heartfelt plea to God for victory and the coveted trophy.

In a video shared by Gor Mahia, accompanied by the caption ‘PRAYER, We start off our day with a special prayer from one of our ardent fans ahead of crucial matches this week. Maombi,’ Jaro Soja can be seen in a secluded setting, fervently praying for the club’s success.

Jaro prayer for Gor Mahia

“Ninajua wewe ni Mungu wa rehema ndio maana nimekuja kukuongelesha eeh Mwenyezi Mungu. Tuko na mpira mbili ambayo tumebaki nayo, mpira mbili, tuko na Kakamega Homeboyz pale Kasarani tarehe 21,” (I know that you are a merciful God, that’s why I have come to speak to you, oh Almighty God. We have two matches remaining, two matches, we have Kakamega Homeboyz at Kasarani on the 21st), his prayer resounded.

“Nakuomba utupatie Okombe sisi kama Kakamega Homeboyz Sisi kama Gor Mahia. Nimekuja kwa niaba ya mashabiki wa K’Ogalo, mimi Kama Jaro Soja nimeomba kwa sababu najua uko na nguvu ya kutupatia Okombe. Tuko kwa hali hatari… juu unaweza,” (I ask you to grant us victory, as Kakamega Homeboyz and as Gor Mahia. I have come on behalf of the fans of K’Ogalo, myself as Jaro Soja, I have prayed because I know you have the power to give us the trophy. We are in a desperate situation… because you can), he concluded.

Gor Mahia last clinched the league title during the 2019/20 season, which was unfortunately interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic and ended prematurely after just 23 rounds of matches.

The record league champions have notched up 19 wins out of the 32 matches played so far, with 10 draws and three defeats.

Their upcoming encounter against Kakamega Homeboyz in Nairobi, scheduled for the penultimate round of the campaign on Wednesday, will be crucial. They will then face Nairobi City Stars in the final match of the league.

With defending champions Tusker FC in second place with 65 points and Nzoia Sugar closely trailing with 63 points, Gor Mahia will be determined to avoid any slip-ups and secure the title once again.

The Green Army and their devoted fans will undoubtedly be hoping that Jaro Soja’s prayer resonates with the heavens and leads them to success in their final battles of the season.
