Kenyan international Corazone Aquino (pictured) was on target as Tanzanian women’s team Simba Queens extended their hope to qualify for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) women’s championships League at Azam Complex in Dar-es-Salaam.

Aquino and Fallone Pambani’s goals gave Simba Queens maximum points to lead Group B following their two consecutive victories.

They have therefore registered six points with eight goals without conceding any game and are unbeaten in their group.

In the first encounter, Simba Queens thrashed    Garde Republicain of Djibouti 6-0 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Barakat Olaiya and Aisha Djafari each netted a brace while Pambani Kuzoya and Joelle Bakuru were also on the scoresheet.

Their rivals She Corporates are placed second with three points they earned after securing a hefty 6-0 victory over Yei Join Stars of Southern Sudan.

Meanwhile, two retired footballers in the country have called upon the government and Fifa to reach an amnesty regarding the indefinite suspension slapped on the country by the world football governing body.

Former international defender George “Jojo”Waweru and one-time Kenyan Premier League high-scoring player Mannaseh “Chichi” Imbo expressed concern with the sad state of affairs, saying it is hurting players.
