Four Gor Mahia players Rodgers Ouma, Rooney Onyango, Joshua Onyango, and Benson Omalla, are set to appear before the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Disciplinary Committee.

This after they were referred to the committee following what is termed as their involvement in the chaotic scenes during their draw against Murang’a Seal.

The decision to refer the players to the FKF Disciplinary Committee was made by the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee, citing their roles in the disturbances that occurred after the goalless draw at Kasarani last weekend.

“Gor Mahia Players namely Ouma Rodgers J.No 23, Onyango Rooney J.No. 88, Onyango Joshua J. No 4, and Ochieng Benson J.No 22, be referred to the FKF Disciplinary Committee for their role in the skirmishes,” reads part of the ruling.

Murang’a Seal last week submitted a letter to FKF CEO Barry Otieno, urging action against Gor Mahia for the post-match incidents.

According to Murang’a, Gor Mahia players confronted match officials immediately after the final whistle, inciting a portion of their fans to approach the tunnel, attempting to obstruct the officials from leaving the field.

The club expressed concern about inadequate security, leading to hooligans moving into the stands and attacking peaceful Murang’a SEAL FC fans who had stayed in their seats during the chaos, waiting for order to be restored before leaving the stadium.

Additionally, Murang’a reported that without security assistance, their fans and one of their players in the stands were physically assaulted, with some losing their valuables to the aggressors.
