Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) Champions Gor Mahia will be looking to collect maximum points in their remaining matches when the league resumes after the international break.

Sirkal are 11 points clear of second-placed Tusker on the log and with no opponents breathing on their necks, only team targets are left to beat according to Assistant Coach Michael Nam.

Gor aim for maximum points

Nine points from their remaining three matches will put the Green Army on 76 points, one point more than their season target.

“Our expectation is to win all the matches, that is what has been our target. Even though we have managed to win the cup, our target was 75 points which means we have to win the remaining matches to reach our target this season,” Nam said while speaking to the club media.

Gor who will be without gaffer Jonathan McKinstry will play away to Sofapaka in match day 32 before hosting Talanta three days later. They will then wrap their season away to Bidco United on June 26, 2024.

The Green Army has not lost a match in their last five fixtures, winning four and drawing one. The draw came against KCB back on May 16, 2024.

Sofapaka has managed to hold Gor Mahia to a draw in their last three encounters while relegation-threatened Talanta will give Gor something to think about despite the fact that Gor has never lost to Talanta in the top flight.

The Kenyan Champions will then turn their attention to the CECAFA Kagame Cup where they will be looking to test themselves against continental opposition ahead of their CAF Champions League assignment in August.

The CECAFA Kagame Cup is slated for Tanzania and Zanzibar between July 6-22, 2024.
