Dandora Stadium to host triple-header as FKF Cup reaches quarterfinal stage

The FKF Cup is set to reach new heights as it gears up for the thrilling quarterfinals stage, scheduled for April 20 and 21, 2024.

The action-packed weekend kicks off with a triple-header on Saturday, April 20, at Dandora Stadium. The day begins with an electrifying clash between Kibera Soccer Ladies and Bungoma Queens at 10:00 a.m, promising an intense battle between two FKF Women Premier League powerhouses.

Following this showdown, defending champions Ulinzi Starlets will face off against FC Milima Queens at 12:30 p.m.

Kenya Police Bullets will take on Women’s National Super League contenders Kangemi Ladies in the final match of the day at 3:00 p.m.

Sunday’s excitement shifts to Sudi Stadium, where Kisiwa Starlets, fresh off their stunning victory against Vihiga Queens in the previous round, will host Zetech Sparks in what promises to be a captivating encounter.

As anticipation mounts for the upcoming matches, fans eagerly await to see which teams will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for June 16, 2024.

Ulinzi Starlets showcased their prowess in a commanding 3-0 victory over Royal Starlets during the FKF Women’s Cup Round of 16 match on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the Ndura Sports Complex.

Fasila Adhiambo led the charge with a goal in the 22nd minute, swiftly followed by another in the 34th minute, securing her brace and a 2-0 lead for her team at halftime. Linda Kihara sealed the deal with a goal in the 66th minute, cementing Ulinzi Starlets’ place in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Zetech Sparks clinched their spot in the quarterfinals with a dominant 4-0 triumph over Vickers Queens.

FC Milima Queens and Kisiwa Starlets also advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Nakuru City Queens and Vihiga Queens, respectively, at Sudi Stadium on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

FKF Cup qualification

Although the first halves of both matches ended in stalemates, the second halves saw a shift in momentum. Barbara Masitsa opened the scoring for Milima Queens in the 47th minute, followed by a brace from Eunice Nabwoba in the 81st and 88th minutes, securing a 3-0 victory.
