The FKF Cup reaches a climax this weekend with KCB and Kenya Police locking horns in the final slated for Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

Police sailed into the showdown after going past AFC Leopards in a 1-0 dramatic semifinal played across two days while KCB edged Mathare United 4-2 on penalties to move closer to continental action.

Ingwe will take on Sharks in an 11.00 am fixture at the same venue in the third-place playoff, a match that will serve as an opener before paving the way for main cup action set to kick off at 2.00 pm.

This will be the second year in a row that AFC Leopards find themselves in the third-place playoffs. Ingwe beat Ulinzi 1-0 to secure a third-place finish in the competition last year. En route to the third-place playoffs, Ingwe had lost to eventual winners Homeboyz 2-1 in the semifinals.

The winning team will claim the Mozzart Bet Cup, a Ksh2 million cash prize, and most importantly the coveted opportunity to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.

FKF Cup 2023

Kakamega Homeboyz won the 2023 edition of the competition in a narrow 1-0 win over Tusker in a match played at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on July 1, 2023, rightfully becoming Kenya’s sole representatives on the continental stage.

The Kakamega-based side’s dreams of a successful continental campaign would be cut short as they were bundled out of the CAF Confederation Cup, falling 4-1 to Libyan outfit Al Hilal Benghazi in the second leg of the first preliminary round at the Benina Witnesses Stadium in Libya.

Four Kenyan clubs have been granted licenses by the Football Kenya Federation’s First Instance Body (FIB) ahead of the 2024/25 CAF Inter Club Competitions. The four include KCB, Gor Mahia, Tusker, and Kenya Police.

This comes after the four clubs successfully completed the CAF Club Licensing criteria for the forthcoming 2024-2025 CAF Men's Interclub Competitions.

FKFPL Champions Gor Mahia will represent Kenya in the CAF Champions League while the FKF Cup winner between KCB and Police will take part in the CAF Confederations Cup.
