Ferdinand Omanyala bows out as Imali storms into 200M semis in Mauritius

Recently crowned Africa’s fastest man and now 100M champion Ferdinand Omanyala has had his glory cut short after failing to proceed into the semis of the 200M race held on the fourth day of the 22nd edition of the Senior African Championships in Reduit, Mauritius.
Omanyala, who performed exemplary well during day 3 of the championships, finished in third place in heat number 7 with a time of 21.16 seconds.
The heat was won by World U20 100M champion, Letsile Tebogo from Botswana who crossed the line in 20.48 seconds.
Imali
Kenya’s fastest woman Maximilla Imali on the other hand impressed after making it to the women’s 200m semi-finals.
2019 African Games bronze medallists in the women’s 4×100m, Millicent Ndoro also followed suit ensuring 2 Kenyans have their places solidified in the semis.
Imali crossed the line in 23.54 seconds in third place in heat five while Ndoro finished in fourth place as the fastest loser in heat three in 23.76 seconds.
Former Africa Games 100M silver medallist, Eunice Murandafu Kadogo crushed out after finishing in third in a time 24.63 seconds
