Embu Sevens returns after two-year break over Covid

Embu Sevens rugby competition is set to return on May 7 after a two-year break caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The two-day event will usher in the long-awaited and revered local sevens circuit in the country set to kick off on the 21st of May in Nairobi.

Kenya Cup, Championship and Nationwide league teams will have a chance of warming up and testing their systems ahead of the main circuit.

Embu RFC chairman Moses Mukabane said that many teams have expressed interest to participate.

“We expect a big turn up because many teams are interested to participate in the event. They will tuning up for the forthcoming local circuit where two legs will be played the same month,” Mukabane told People Sports.
