Cup Semi 2—@kcbrugby vs @RfcKabras,” an update from KRU read.

This follows after the main cup quarterfinal clash concluded with major upsets in the ties.

Wanyore stun Quins

Oscar Ouma’s Nakuru charges were the first to serve the stunning upset after dealing defending champions Kenya Harlequins a 19-17 defeat in the first clash of the day.

Wanyore mounted a thrilling performance of grit and defensive determination to edge the reigning champions.

The result effectively ended Quins’ quest for an unprecedented record-extending 14th Driftwood title.

Taking to their media site after the win over Quins, the club made a rallying call to finish the competitions strongly after knocking the holders out.

“WANYORE FOR THE WIN! Quarterfinal thriller sealed! We edge out Kenya Harlequins 19–17 in a nail-biter and march straight into the Main Cup Semis at Driftwood 7s. Big heart. Big game. Bigger dreams.”

“Let’s finish strong, Wanyore!” the club posted after the victory.

Quins had been widely touted as pre-tournament favourites but met tough proceedings against the determined minnows who bagged the priceless victory.

Strathmore Leos, on their part, secured passage to the semis following a narrow 15-10 scoreline against a determined Nondescript team.

The scholars rode on a moment of brilliance as they made count of a well-taken conversion to salvage the day and serve an anti-climactic end to the Nondies players and fans.

KCB rugby punched their ticket to the semi-final after edging Menenga Oilers in the main cup quarters. The victory cemented the Bankers status among the early odds-on favourites for the gong after Harlequins’ upset and subsequent exit.

The Bankers proved too good for the Oilers, winning the tie on a 29-0 scoreline.

The competition will see a new winner crowned after Kenya Harlequins’ dethronement at the quarter-final stage.
