Curtis Lilako retires from active rugby after decades of success

RUGBY: Former Chipu and Kenya Simba’s prop Curtis Lilako has called it a day from professional and competitive Rugby, after being part of it for one and a half decades.
Curtlow, as he is fondly called on the rugby pitch has left a memorable mark in the game. He won Five Kenya Cup Titles while playing for KCB Rugby Club from 2008 to 2023.
He also played for Kenya under 20 Chipu in 2009 and made his National Duty for Simbas in 2010 to 2019.
The 35-year old skipper made the announcement which came as a surprise on his twitter handle with a picture of him in his club’s jersey accompanied by caption #CL3Out.
Lilako had 38 caps for the National team even as he captained Kenya to beat Zambia in 2019’s Victoria Cup.
“Enjoy all you’ve got while you have it. Stay focused. Keep evolving. Enjoy your retirement Le Skip and thank you for your service. CL3,” read a message from KCB Rugby Club’s twitter handle.
Many fans and colleagues took to various socials to send congratulatory and best wishes messages to Curtlow.
