Curtains fall on 2nd edition of KVF Kenya Cup
By Joel Masibo, January 19, 2026The 2025/2026 season of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Kenya Cup Second Edition group stage concluded thrillingly on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Nyayo Stadium’s basketball court.
The event showcased exceptional talent and competitive spirit, with the National Police Service (NPS) teams delivering standout performances across the board. KAPU, the sole NPS team in action on the final day, mounted a spirited challenge against the more experienced Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).

They narrowly lost the match three sets to one, with set scores of 21-25, 25-23, 19-25, 19-25. Overall, NPS teams performed exceptionally well in the group stages.
The GSU team topped Group A with six points, while Administration Police Kenya (APK) and Kenya Airport Police Unit (KAPU) finished second and third, respectively, in Group C.
In the women’s category, the DCI Queens delivered an impressive performance, battling their arch-rivals KCB for the top spot. They ultimately secured second place with four points, finishing just one point behind the leaders.
The tournament’s group stage successful conclusion sets the stage for the highly anticipated round of 16, scheduled for later in March. The National Police Service extends its congratulations to all participating teams for their exceptional efforts, to the enthusiastic fans who created an electrifying atmosphere, and to the Kenya Volleyball Federation for organising a successful and memorable tournament.
