Crisis-hit Makolanders relegated to regional league

By , April 11, 2022

As painful as it is, former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women Premier League side Makolanders Ladies, (pictured) have once again been relegated, this time around not from the premier league but from FKF Women Division One to the third tier, the FKF Women Regional League.

Makolanders found themselves axed from the top league after 28 years by end of last season. At the weekend, their woes and downward spiral were compounded further after the FKF Caretaker Committee relegated them to the Regional League for failing to honour three consecutive matches.

“Makolanders have been relegated after forfeiting three matches,” the Caretaker Committee said

Speaking to People Sports, Makolanders Ladies coach Michael Okanga said though they had not received official communication from the committee in regards to their relegation, he was disheartened to see his side plunge further down due to financial constraints.
