Nairobi City Stars midfielder Elvis Noor Ojiambo expressed his determination to make further contributions to the team following his long-awaited maiden goal in over 84 matches.

Noor’s breakthrough came after enduring 84 Premier League games spanning four seasons. His moment arrived during Nairobi City Stars’ clash against FC Talanta, where they secured a convincing 3-0 victory on matchday 27 in Machakos on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Noor’s City Stars goal

In a pivotal moment just before halftime, the defensive midfielder capitalized on a well-placed cross from Dennis Oalo to double Simba wa Nairobi’s lead.

Noor’s joy was compounded by his earlier involvement in setting up the opening goal, as his progressive pass to Samuel Kapen allowed Oalo to find the net with ease.

Reflecting on his achievement, Noor expressed his delight at finally scoring and expressed his desire to replicate the feeling in future matches. He emphasized his commitment to contributing to the team’s goal count whenever possible.

“It’s such a great feeling to score for the first time ever. I want to feel it again and again. And when not scoring, I want to contribute as much as possible to our goal count,” Noor told Nairobi City Stars portal.

Noor’s impressive performance against FC Talanta marked his 20th appearance in the Premier League this season, with the match also being his third complete game.

Having accumulated 1,021 regular game minutes, he stands out as the most fielded player among those who aided City Stars’ promotion from the National Super League (NSL) in the 2019/20 season.
