Madagascar beat Mozambique to book place in semi-final
By Martin Oduor, January 28, 2023Madagascar continued with their impressive form as they hammered Mozambique 3-1 in their quarterfinal campaign at the CHAN 2022 tournament.
After pressing at the start of the game, Madagascar were rewarded with a goal from Solomampionona Razafindranaivo in the 18th minute.
The first half ended with a 1-0 scoreline but Madagascar were quick to state their intention in the second half as they scored their second goal in the 67th minute.
Razagindrakoto received a pass inside the area and didn’t waste the chance to extend for Madagascar.
Madagascar sealed their victory in the 87th minute after Ravelomanantsoa received a pass and scored.
Mozambique scored their consolation goal in the 94th minute but it was the case of too little too late as they couldn’t stage a comeback at the moment.
Madagascar now face Senegal in the tournament’s semi-final.
The tournament’s host Algeria awaits the winner between Niger and Ghana who are facing each other later tonight as from 10 pm Kenyan time.
