Bandari Youth player Daud Zacharia dies

Bandari Football Club is in mourning following the death of one of its promising youth players, Daud Zacharia, who passed away after a brief illness.

The club confirmed the tragic news through a statement posted on its official X account on Monday, 4 August 2025.

“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our promising young Bandari Youth player, Daud Zacharia, after a short illness,” read the club’s message.

Zacharia, who hailed from Bangale in Garissa County, was one of the most talented forwards in the Bandari Youth setup and had a bright future ahead of him. Just last season, he emerged as the top scorer in the FKF Coast Region League after netting 23 goals—a performance that earned him admiration and attention from scouts across the country.

Rising star remembered


His contributions helped Bandari Youth secure promotion to the FKF Division Two League, marking a major milestone in the club’s history. Additionally, Zacharia played a pivotal role in guiding the team to victory at the 2024 BingwaFest Cup, further cementing his legacy as one of the finest young players to emerge from the coast in recent years.

While the specific cause of his death was not disclosed in the announcement, sources close to the team indicated that he had been unwell for a few weeks leading up to his passing.
