Ambani talks AFC Leopards title hopes ahead of Gala Awards
By Joel Masibo, July 25, 2025AFC Leopards Chairman Boniface Ambani has revealed that the club’s management is working around the clock to see that the 1998 Kenyan Premier League champions win their 13th title in a short time.
Speaking to People Sport ahead of the team’s 2025 Gala Awards scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the refurbished Masinde Muliro Stadium in Bungoma, Ambani explained that his administration is working closely with players and the club supporters to deliver success at the den.
According to Ambani, the upcoming Gala is to appreciate the effort put in by AFC Leopards players, staff, and fans while pushing for the stability of the team both on and off the pitch.
”This is the only time you have to appreciate a player; it is an important event amid preparations for the upcoming season. The Gala is for everyone; it is not only for the players, but also the fans will be appreciated. The best branch and the best coach will also be appreciated in the Gala, so much is going to happen,” he said.
AFC Leopards is currently building a team capable of competing with the bigwigs, such as the Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions Police FC, former champions Tusker, and Gor Mahia.

“AFC Leopards has the most loyal supporters in Kenyan football. They will always stand with the team whether they lose, win, or draw. For us in the office, we are working on winning trophies because the best gift you can give a fan is a title,” Ambani stated.
