Agwanda among seven players set to leave Shabana

Struggling FKF Premier League outfit Shabana FC is set to release seven players among them midfielder Enock Agwanda.


According to a top club official, who sought anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, the Kisii-based Glamour will let go off seven players and sign similar in the January transfer window.

Apart from Agwanda, the other players include goalkeeper Eric Ongiri, Denis Kalama Wafula, Johanna Mwita. Victor Kamungo and Samuel Atiti.

The source further confirmed to People Sports that the fate of defender Silas Abungana will be determined later.


“It is true we will release seven players and Enock [Agwanda] is one of them,” the source told People Sports, adding: “The players who will leave will be replaced immediately and as we speak our technical bench is currently working out on the replacements.


“Silas [Abungana] is another player, who will likely leave but his fate will be decided in due course, we want to have a competitive squad to help us navigate the second leg and keep us in the league for next season.”


Tore Bobe, who are making a return to the top-flight after 17 years in the cold, have found the going tough and are currently sitting two places above the relegation zone with 14 points from 16 matches.
