FKF PL Week 13: AFC Leopards set for Tusker duel as Gor Mahia face Sharks
By Joel Sang, December 1, 2023
The Football Kenya Federation Premier League will enter week 13 with games spread from Saturday, December 2, to Monday, December 4, 2023.
Shabana, who have struggled to find a stable footing in the top flight, will be in action against KCB at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay in one of the matches slated for Saturday.
Talanta, Rangers in action
FC Talanta, who are slowly solidifying and showing resilience after a poor season start, will face Ulinzi Stars, while Posta Rangers have been scheduled to play Nairobi City Stars.
Rangers are leading by a point ahead of Gor Mahia and will need to win and hope that the reigning Premier League champions drop points.
On Sunday, five matches have been lined up, with the first one set to be played between Police and Murang’a Seal in South C. This is expected to be a tough game for the cops, given how Seal have shown how tough a side to crack they are.
Kakamega Homeboyz, who are again showing their title ambition with recent resurgent performances, will be at home to welcome Bidco United at Bukhungu Stadium.
Bandari will face Muhoroni Youth at Mbaraki Stadium. The latter will be eager to bounce back after they were beaten by Gor Mahia in their last match.
Nzoia Sugar, who were beaten 3-1 by Police on their own turf in the last game, will battle Sofapaka at Sudi Stadium. Both sides have experienced a tougher season, given that they have failed to impress and lie in the danger zone.
Gor Mahia face Sharks
Gor Mahia will play against Kariobangi Sharks in a game that will be televised from Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. While K’Ogalo will be chasing for another crucial victory, Sharks will be looking to win and ease the pressure that is building up on their shoulders.
The Eastlands side started the season quite well but have faded as the league gathers speed. A win for Gor Mahia will ensure they keep pace with Posta Rangers, who have surprisingly been leading with no sign of relenting.
One match has been lined up for Monday, with AFC Leopards hosting the former Premier League champions Tusker in Machakos. The game had been postponed before a new date was confirmed.
Ingwe will go into the game aiming for yet another victory under coach Tomas Trucha, while the Brewers hope for a brighter day after a number of poor performances that have seen them lose ground in the title race.
