AFC Leopards have explained the absence of the club captain Washington Munene who has missed the last two matches.
Munene’s absence was evident as AFC Leopards secured their first win of the season, notably during the match against Nzoia Sugar, and also in their subsequent goalless draw with Kariobangi Sharks.
AFC Leopards confirmation
The club, through an official statement, confirmed that their captain continues his recovery process from the ankle injury.
“Our Captain Washington Munene continues to recover from an ankle injury he suffered in our match against Bandari FC at Mbaraki Grounds.”
The club expressed its well wishes for a swift recovery, stating, “Quick recovery Washy. We’re looking forward to seeing you back in action.”
AFC Leopards will also be without the services of Cliff Nyakeya, who has been sidelined due to a right calf strain.
AFC Leopards eye 2nd
As the team gears up for the 10th round of the season, they have made significant progress, moving out of the relegation zone.
Their next opponent is Nairobi City Stars, and both teams will be vying for a crucial victory. AFC Leopards, under the guidance of Coach Tomas Trucha, aims to secure another win that would propel them closer to the top half of the league table.
In contrast, City Stars will be looking to secure a win to avoid slipping down toward the danger zone.
