AFC Leopards coach Patrick Aussems returns ahead of new season

By , August 23, 2022

AFC Leopards Patrick Aussems has confirmed that he will take charge of the team next season.

The 12-times Kenya champions had to finish the 2021/22 season without the Belgian after he flew to his native homeland two weeks before the end of the campaign.

On Tuesday, the former Simba tactician posted a photo of his passport with a caption,“Nairobi, I am coming … I can’t wait to be on the field, to work with my players and to see you, #INGWE fans, supporting us,”

Ingwe fans were left a worried lot after Aussems prematurely exited the club with the league still on and was later linked with a move to Kiyovu SC of Rwanda.

Kiyovu SC chairman posted a photo of him and Aussems and through a tweet, the Belgian quelled the rumours.

Leopards players reported for preseason training on July 27 with key players missing in action.

After landing a lucrative three-year sponsorship with gaming firm Betika, contracts of many of the players who had stayed away from the club were renewed.
