AFC Leopards battles supplier woes as kit and replica delivery delays
By Kiprono Keileb, September 16, 2025Kenya’s oldest football club, AFC Leopards, has been forced to confront fresh challenges after announcing delays in the delivery of both official team kits and replica merchandise, a setback the club attributes to supplier issues.
In a notice addressed to members and fans posted on its official X account on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the club’s National Executive Committee (NEC) explained that the hold-up has been caused by unresolved disputes with the supplier.
The problems, they said, revolve around product quality concerns and incomplete deliveries despite full payment already being made.
“Due to unavoidable circumstances, there has been an unfortunate delay in the delivery of both team kits and fan replicas. This delay has arisen from ongoing challenges with our supplier, specifically, concerns around product quality and incomplete deliveries despite full payment being made,” the statement reads

The notice, signed by Secretary General Isaac Muthini, assured fans that the club is actively engaging with all involved parties to resolve the matter. “Please be assured that we are actively engaging with all involved parties to resolve these issues as swiftly and professionally as possible,” Muthini stated.
Acknowledging the frustration of supporters, Leopards admitted the situation was regrettable but urged patience. “We fully understand the frustration this may cause and deeply regret any inconvenience. We kindly ask for your patience and tolerance during this time,” the notice read.
Replica kits are a critical part of fan culture for the 13-time league champions, who enjoy one of the largest fan bases in Kenyan football. The delay has already sparked disappointment among supporters who traditionally wear club colours in the stands to show solidarity during matches.
Despite the setback, the NEC emphasised its commitment to ensuring fans eventually get authentic, high-quality merchandise.
“Your continued support is key to us, and we are committed to ensuring that, once resolved, both the team and our loyal fans will receive high-quality, authentic AFC Leopards merchandise that you can wear with pride,” the club stated.
The development adds to the off-field struggles of Ingwe, who continue to face financial and operational hurdles even as they strive to reclaim their dominance in Kenyan football.
