Absa donates kits to Team Kenya ahead of games

Absa Bank Kenya, the official private sector sponsor for Team Kenya, has delivered the official travelling kit to the national team ahead of the World Athletics Championships that begin in Oregon, the USA tomorrow.

The travelling contingent of 46 athletes will compete in both track and field events at the famous Eugene, Oregon’s Hayward Field. Speaking during the handover, Absa Bank Kenya Marketing Manager, Peter Waweru, commended the team for their commitment and preparation for the upcoming games saying he was optimistic about Kenya’s performance in the Championships.

“We applaud Team Kenya for their meticulous preparations both in the National Trials as well as camp training. We expect an impressive showing in Oregon,” Waweru said.

He also applauded the work done by Athletics Kenya (AK) and the National Olympic Committee (NOC) to create a conducive environment for athletes to step up their preparations for the different events. On his part, World Athletics Team Manager, Kiprono Bunei, who was present during the handover ceremony, thanked Absa for the kits and expressed optimism about Team Kenya’s performance at the Worlds.
