Kenya Sevens team Shujaa has unveiled a 13-man squad ahead of their grand return to the HSBC SVNS series starting this November.

The Shujaa team will be captained by the sensational Strathmore Leos player George Ooro and scrum master Samuel Asati.

Shujaa head coach Kevin Wambua will be putting his trust in the two Olympians to lead the team as they travel to Dubai and Cape Town for their first two opening legs of the 2024/25 HSBC World Rugby Series.

Other notable names included in Wambua’s squad include Kelvin Wekesa, William Mwanji and Brian Mutua.

Olympians Chrisant Ojwang, Nygel Amaitsa and speed star Patrick Odongo are also part of the team heading to Dubai.

To blend experience and fresh talent, Wambua has also called up Brayan Ondego is set to make his debut for Shujaa in the opening leg of the 2024/2025 HSBC World Rugby Series.

Vincent Onyala who captained the side during Paris Olympics games has been left out of the travelling squad ahead of the first two opening legs of the 2024/25 HSBC World Rugby Series.

Schedule

Shujaa’s campaign kicks off with the Dubai Sevens from November 30, 2024, to December 1, 2024, at the Sevens Stadium.

Kenya Sevens has been pitted against Olympic champions France, Australia and South Africa in Pool A of the Dubai Sevens.

The team will then head to DHL Stadium in Cape Town for the second round of the series from December 7- 8, 2024.

Shujaa will fly out on Monday, November 25, 2024, and head to Dubai ahead of their opening match.
