Shabana FC fans have been urged to keep off the match between the club and neighbours Mara Sugar FC at Awendo Stadium in South Nyanza on Saturday over security and safety concerns.

Fans’ chairman, Eric Mochoge said the stadium is small to accommodate a large number of Shaban fans and they have not been assured of their security and safety.

Mochoge, flanked by the Club’s vice chairman, Wycliffe Ayienda said they had contacted the host to change to a bigger stadium to host the fans in vain.

“ Our commitment to upholding the integrity of the sport is paramount. Our fans had raised the issue of security during our meeting” Mochoge told the press at the Gusii stadium, noting it was the best interest of the supporters not to attend.

The official said the fans will not be allowed to attend away matches until the concerns the club raised were addressed.
