Seven pupils have been confirmed dead after a Precious Talent School classroom collapsed Monday morning, St John’s Ambulance has confirmed.
St John’s Ambulance Communications manager Fred Majiwa said the incident left more than 64 other pupils injured.
Majiwa said the two-storey semi-permanent building collapsed shortly before 7am on Monday.
Majiwa said rescue teams have managed to comb through all the rubble.
“The weight could not sustain the old construction. The situation is well contained as of now,” Majiwa added.
The injured pupils are currently being attended to at Kenyatta National Hospital.
