President William Ruto has put Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and heads of over 20 agencies on notice for failing to comply with the directive on onboarding all their services on eCitizen.
Speaking on Thursday, November 28, 2024, Ruto called out the agencies revealing that they were playing games aimed at sabotaging his administration in the push to digitise all government services.
He noted that the delay in migrating the services to eCitizen has created an avenue for some of them to capitalise on to siphon public money.
“The CEOs of the following bodies are put on notice,” Ruto said before reading out the names.
Some of the notable names read out by Ruto included Kenya Defence College, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) and Kenya Power.
The Head of State made it clear that the said agencies have one week to comply or their leaders would be axed.
“These entities have yet to comply with my directive that their services and payments and revenue must be on the eCitizen platform so that Treasury can follow on revenue that is being collected by the government. They have one week to comply, otherwise they know what to do, they can make use of the door,” Ruto stated.
Moreover, Ruto put on notice other firms who are colluding with banks to collect money remitted on the eCitizen platform noting that the government would launch a purge on them.
