Raila Odinga Junior has reacted to his father’s recent remarks on the anti-government protests which have rocked the country.

In his response shared via his official X account, Raila Junior distanced himself from the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition leader saying everyone was an individual even those with the same names.

“Everybody is an individual please! Even people with the same exact names,” he wrote.

Earlier, Raila had announced that he had agreed to President William Ruto’s call for dialogue to settle the unrest among disgruntled youths calling for the resignation of the president.

In his statement on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Raila said dialogue is the way forward to resolve the current issues causing unrest.

“After extensive consultations, we have agreed that a dialogue is the way forward out of the crisis we are having today. We have agreed that we give people an opportunity to be heard, express themselves and come out with grievances that are actually ailing our country today so that a lasting solution can be found,” Raila stated.

The latest aligns with President Ruto’s calls for a 6-day multi-sectoral forum seeking to foster national dialogue to put an end to the anti-government protests.

“The proposed youth and multi-sectoral forums will give the youth and other stakeholders a platform to discuss these and other national economic challenges that face our country,” Ruto said on June 29, 2024.
