Qatar has unveiled its squad in preparation for their upcoming match against Harambee Stars, scheduled to be held at Janoub Stadium in Doha on Thursday.
Among the notable names in Qatar’s squad are Salah Zakaria, Youssef Ayman, Karim Boudiaf, and Almoez Ali, all of whom are teammates of Michael Olunga at Al Duhail.

Additionally, players from Al Sadd include Saad al-Sheeb, Ahmed Suhail, Boualam Khoukhi, Musab Khider, Pedro Miguel, Tariq Salman, Mustafa Meshaal, Akram Afif, Hassan al-Haydos, Mohamed Waad, and Yousef Abdelrazaq.
On the other hand, nine out of the ten locally-based players initially called up by coach Engin Firat have already reported to the training camp. Kenneth Muguna, the only remaining player, is expected to join the squad on Monday.
Masud Juma and Duke Abuya are among those who have already checked into the camp. The rest of the squad is anticipated to arrive at the training camp on Monday, September 4, 2023.
The team is scheduled to depart for Qatar on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 1 a.m., in preparation for their first friendly match on Thursday, September 7, 2023, in Doha.
Harambee Stars vs S Sudan
After the match, Harambee Stars will return home on Friday, September 8, 2023, ahead of their second friendly against South Sudan, set for September 12, 2023.
These friendly matches are deemed essential as part of the team’s preparations for their upcoming competitive assignment, the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
In the qualifiers, Harambee Stars are placed in Group F, alongside Seychelles, Burundi, Gambia, Gabon, and Côte d’Ivoire.
The first leg of the qualifiers is scheduled to be played between November 13th and 21st, 2023.
