A political showdown is expected to be witnessed tomorrow during Deputy President William Ruto’s tour to Thika and Gatundu North constituencies in Kiambu County.

Political mighties in the two constituencies who are supporting DP Ruto’s presidential bid will be seeking to show their political superiority as the 2022 general elections near.

In Gatundu North, former MP Francis Kigo, Mathew Mukuha, Bernard Karanja among others who are rallying behind Ruto will be seeking the endorsement of the second in command in political rallies that will cut across Gatukuyu, Kairi, Gituamba, Kanyoni, Gakoe and Kamwangi villages.

“We welcome the deputy president in our constituency to help our people power their dreams even as he sells his agendas for the country should he assume power next year,” Mukuha said.

In Thika, Patrick Wainaina who recently defected to United Democratic Alliance (UDA) will be seeking to consolidate his votes as he eyes the county’s top seat.

The first-time MP will be accompanying the second in command at Ngoliba village which borders Machakos County, Makongeni, Kamenu and Kiganjo villages alongside Thika town’s main roundabout.

This will be Ruto’s first visit in Mt Kenya this week ahead of a series of visits he is expected to make in Murang’a on Sunday amid reports that Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i will also be touring Murang’a the same day.
