At least three people who were in communication with the former husband of missing police woman the day she was last seen have been identified.

A special team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters has been sent to Kisii County to help local detectives trace the last movements of Constable Eunice Achieng Ogal with a view to tracing her and tracking down the suspects.

“We believe people can give crucial leads in unravelling the mysterious disappearance,” a source said.

On Monday, the detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) joined their colleagues with a preliminary report showing that most of the movements were around Rongo town, Homa Bay County.

“We cannot divulge the fine details of the probe. We have however gathered a few crucial facts that will lead us in establishing what actually transpired,” a senior detective told People Daily.

Permission

The missing officer had been granted permission to go home for private matters. It was however later revealed her former husband, John Owuor Odiango, who committed suicide on Wednesday last week, had lured her.

According to the detectives, the deceased husband still remains the key suspect in the disappearance.

Sub county Police Commander, Tom Achiya said investigators are piecing together information from her last communications and will arrest suspects who colluded for her to disappear.

Speaking to People Daily at his office, he stressed they want to find the officer, a life or dead, nab suspects and arraign them to face the law, adding they involve Communication Service providers to extract information.

“Our investigators are on the ground and are making progress. I cannot divulge more information since it will jeopardise investigations” Achiya said.
