Police arrest suspects in the Kilimani robbery video

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday arrested the suspects in the Kilimani robbery CCTV footage (see footage below).

In a statement, the DCI headquarters said police tracked the four suspects to their hideouts.

“Four suspects connected with a robbery incident captured on Camera along Lenana Road on 25th June, 2020 have this morning been arrested by DCI Detectives based at Kilimani and several items recovered. The four were tracked down to their hideouts in Kawangware, Gatina and Pangani”

In the viral video that has a Thursday, June 25 timestamp, two burglars are seen robbing a man his bag while threatening him with a knife. They later speed off.

The suspects have been identified as; 27-year-old Timothy Jahan Muzami alias ‘Timo’ captured on camera hitting the victim with a firearm on the forehead, Humphrey Minyata alias “Daddy” aged 23 years captured on camera pointing the victim with a sharp knife, Mary Wambui aged 23 years old, said the DCI.

Mary Wambui is believed to be an accomplice who was harbouring the suspects in her Pangani home. Police also arrested another suspect, Ali Musa alias ‘Ally’ aged 26 years old, also believed to be part of the gang.

Police recovered a jacket and a pair of shoes believed to be the ones one of the suspects was wearing during the crime. The DCI said the items and others recovered during the operations shall be used as exhibits in court.
