Nairobi County Women Representative Esther Passaris has praised Democratic presidential aspirant Kamala Harris.
Passaris says Harris’ campaign was issue-based and wished that Joe Biden’s Vice President would win the race as he battles against Donald Trump, the 45th US president and this year’s Republican Party’s candidate.
“Our prayers are with Kamala Harris for running one of the most vibrant issue-based campaigns ever. It’s just a matter of hours. Godspeed from the Continent of Africa,” Passaris said in a statement on X posted on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
US decide
The US citizens are casting their votes on November 5, 2024, to decide who their 47th president will be. The polls will not only decide who the president will be but also the makeup of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Pollsters have pointed to a tight race between Trump and Harris. This is a historic election for the US citizens, as they could elect the first woman ever as their president.
Trump and Harris have been criss-crossing the country during the campaigns that culminated on election day, and their agendas around the economy, immigration, women’s rights, and democracy were massively divergent.
The VP pledged to turn the page on what she calls Trump’s divisive rhetoric and has also positioned herself as a new generation leader who will boost the middle class.
She has also vowed to protect women’s rights and maintain the integrity of US institutions at home and abroad.
On the other hand, Trump has been running his campaign with a clarion call to make America great again, popularly paraphrased as MAGA.
The former president has numerously said that the 2024 elections are the most consequential, a rare convergent view he holds with his closest rival, Harris.
