There was panic at the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) when the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji and Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti (pictured) made an impromptu visit to one of the corporation’s stations at Konza City, Machakos county.

Reports indicate the officials were in a fact-finding mission concerning corruption investigations at the company. Last December, the then managing director Joe Sang and other officials were arrested and charged over graft allegations.

Kinoti and Haji were accompanied by Kenya Revenue Authority Commissioner General James Mburu who has launched a clampdown on tax evaders.

The three held a meeting with acting Managing Director Hudson And-ambi for hours before walking out for a photo session.

The team had earlier inspected the PS8-Konza station where KPC has a terminal for storage facility.

According to sources, they were following up on the investigations at the state oil distributor.
