Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential running mate Martha Karua now says she is confident that the court will overturn President-elect William Ruto’s victory in the August 9 polls.
Karua says the coalition has not given up and will pursue legal action to ensure justice is done.
“Ours is victory deferred but it is coming home. That is a message that should reach everyone as we exploit all legal and constitutional means. Let everyone know victory is coming home,” she said.

Karua further clarified that Azimio had a majority of the members of parliament.
“Our figures show that we command the National Assembly. Our competitors are up by one, but we command the National Assembly. We will meet to execute how we will carry out our mandate,” she added.
According to the IEBC records seen by the People Daily Digital, Azimio has 162 elected Members of Parliament both in the Senate and National Assembly against Kenya Kwanza’s 159.
However, on Wednesday, August 17, during a meeting with elected leaders in Karen, Ruto said 10 out of 12 independent elected MPs had joined the Kenya Kwanza alliance.
IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati on Monday, August 15, announced William Ruto as the president-elect after garnering 7,176,141 votes, representing 50.49 per cent of the total votes cast in the general election.
Raila followed closely with 6942,930 votes.
