Zetech University inks deal with organization to enhance quality health in Kenya

Zetech University has partnered with Ponea Health Care, an e-commerce healthcare technology platform connecting licensed, vetted and rated healthcare service providers with patients to boost health services across the country.
The private university entered the deal that is hoped to also benefit the university students with internships and jobs.
According to Mathew Ng’etich, a clinical officer working under Ponea Health care, most Kenyans and or patients in the country are unaware of many specialized health facilities giving diverse medical services and that their organization provides all information about the facilities.
“As Ponea, we move to centres of excellence that are less known, we get their information and make their facilities known to patients in our platform,” he said.
He noted that most Kenyans have been grappling to find facilities where they ca access specialized treatment within the country and even within their localities, a situation that has left many of the incur extra and unnecessary expenses searching their locations.
On his side, Zetech University Vice Chancellor Prof Njenga Munene revealed that a team of 25 graduates from the Ruiru-based university has been absorbed by the health organisation where they will offer their expertise especially in the field ICT.
Prof Munene further stated that the University is committed to supporting Kenyans access quality treatment through technology.
He also divulged plans by the University to construct a cancer care center in the best Juja to help patients and especially children who are grappling with the killer disease.
“We have elaborate plans to support our people in access of professional health treatments. In addition, we’re in the process of putting up a cancer care facility in Juja where we will also be building our new campus near Mang’u High school,” he said.
