Zdravko Logarusic’s Kenya Police reign begins with win
Under the guidance of their new tactician, Zdravko Logarusic, Kenya Police secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Bidco United at Police Sacco Stadium.
Prior to Logarusic’s arrival, Police had struggled in the league, failing to secure a win in their first four matches.
Kenya Police turn to ex-Ingwe
The former AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia manager was brought in to revamp the team and bring success.
In his debut match, it took just 16 minutes for the Police to find the back of the net, with off-season signing Kenneth Muguna scoring the opener. The team held onto their lead to go into halftime in front.
The second goal of the match was scored by Clinton Kinanga in the 86th minute, securing the victory for Police. This win also marked their second clean sheet of the season.
Kenya Police move on log
Following this triumph, Kenya Police moved up to 11th place in the league standings with six points from five matches.
Bidco United, with a similar number of points but a better goal difference, occupies a comparable position in the league table.
Last season, Kenya Police delivered an impressive performance, tallying 18 wins, 10 draws, and six losses.
They were the league’s top-scoring team, netting 55 goals, and boasting a strong defence, conceding the fewest goals (22) in the league.
Their outstanding performance in the previous campaign, finishing third with 64 points and holding the best offensive and defensive records in the league, had raised expectations for this new season.
