Woman search ends with find of her body in city’s morgue
The search for a missing 27-year-old woman from Baringo county has ended in grief after her body was found in a mortuary in Nairobi.
Mercy Cherop Nyamasia from Lamaiwe area in Baringo South sub-county had been missing since September 21 and was last seen in Embakasi area where she owned a salon business.
According to Mercy’s father David Kipkoech Nyamasia, a postmortem examination established that his daughter died as a result of head injuries she sustained as a result of a motorbike accident on the morning of September 22.
“We are yet to establish where and whom she was with before the 5.30am accident. We thank Kenyans of goodwill who have supported us during this difficult time of grief,” said Nyamasia.
A postmortem examination which the family witnessed indicated Mercy who used to own a beauty shop in Embakasi after clearing her studies at the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) succumbed to severe internal injuries sustained from an accident along Outering Road. People Daily established Mercy’s phone and all her social media pages had been switched off since her disappearance.
