Githunguri Member of Parliament (MP) Gathoni Wamuchomba has called for the removal of all security agencies bosses over the recent surge in the number of abductions reported in the country.

Taking to her official X account on Friday, December 27, 2024, Wamuchomba called for removal from office of the Inspector General (IG) of Police, Director General of National Intelligence service (NIS) and the Director of Criminal investigations(DCI), with immediate effect.

According to her, the security bosses have failed to account for the missing youths who have reportedly been abducted.

Wamuchomba on police

Wamuchomba further argued that the denial of involvement in the abductions by the police continues to indicate an even bigger scheme to silence dissent voices against the excesses of what she termed as a rogue regime.

“The missing abducted youths and the sequential denial by security incharge continues to indicate an even bigger scheme to silence dissent voices against the excesses of this rogue regime .This calls for the removal of the Inspector General (IG ), Director General National Intelligence service (NIS ) and the Director of Criminal investigations(DCI) with immediate effect for failing to account for the missing Youths,” she stated.

Wamuchomba who is allied to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua went ahead to urge netizens to make five million posts on X platform calling for the resignation of the three security agencies bosses.

“We cannot continue acting like nothing is happening and Kenyans are living in utter Fear in the Kenyan Soil. We need 5 Million X posts on resignations of these office bearers as we seek other avenues,” Wamuchomba wrote on X.

Gachagua hits out at govt

Wamuchomba’s statement comes moments after Gachagua called out the government over the rise in the cases of abductions targeting critics.

Addressing a press conference at his Mathira home on Friday, December 27, 2024, Gachagua said that there has not been any regime that has abducted its children like that of President William Ruto.

The former second in command faulted the police for what he termed as being in denial for distancing themselves from the abductions yet there are witnesses, video evidence and several families grieving over their missing children.

“How can the police still be in denial when there are witnesses, video evidence and countless grieving families coming forward,” he said.
