The board of the Wajir Water and Sewerage Company Thursday sent its CEO Mohamed Osman Omar on leave over claims of non compliance in human and administrative issues.
The issues also include illegal recruitment, disparities in payrol and sacking staff without following due procedures, officials said.
Further, there were various anomalies with the human resource department.
The board also accused the CEO of financial misappropriation in procurement plan and project status .
A board member Abubakar Ali said Omar was unable to explain how the budget was utilized.
“The CEO breached the code of conduct, which has necessitated a paid administrative leave to pave way pending investigations,” he said.
The finance director Ali Bashane takes over as the acting boss for the duration of the investigation.
Omar did not respond to queries on the issues when reached.
