Waiguru ‘MCAs’ kicked out of county assembly

By Githinji Mwangi

Three members of the Kirinyaga County Assembly (MCAs) who are ardent supporters of Governor Anne Waiguru have been kicked out of the assembly.

The MCAs were suspended on Tuesday afternoon for a period of about three to six months by the Kirinyaga County Assembly’s Power and Privilege Committee.

They were accused of linking the Kirinyaga County Assembly Majority Leader Kamau Murango to the fictitious Illuminati group and witchcraft.

The suspended MCAs are Lucy Njeri (nominated), Patrick Somba (Kabare Ward) and Anthony Munene (Karumande Ward).

The MCAs said that they will move to the court to fight the decision.

In the meantime, they have also been barred from attending any committee sessions and plenary sessions.
