Vihiga: Family demands justice after kin is stabbed in drinking den
A family in Vihiga has been thrown into mourning following the untimely demise of their loved one who was stabbed to death at a drinking den in Luanda.
The deceased only identified as Saul was allegedly stabbed to death by one of the merrymakers at a drinking den in Luanda. The accused fled the den after committing the heinous act.
While addressing the press, the family of the deceased led by his aunt and grandmother expressed their frustrations and disappointment in the fate that had befallen their kin.
The distraught relatives are now demanding answers and have since called on relevant authorities to move with speed and arrest their kin’s killer.
“Nilipata habari mtoto wa ndugu yangu alikua ameuawa na vile walinipigia simu hawakunipata kwa vile ilkua imeharibika. Vile nilienda kwa duka kununua maziwa mwenye duka aliniambia kuna jaamaa ameuawa kwetu, nikauliza ni nani, akaniambia mtoto wa ndugu yangu mwenye anafanya Bunyore girls ni kama ameuawa,“
“Kurudi nyumbani nilipata watu wamejaa, nilikua na huzuni sana. Nasema yule kijana mwenye ameua Saul afungwe maisha asiwachiliwe,”
This loosely translates to:
“The shopkeeper at a local store informed me that my nephew had been stabbed to death. I was so saddened by the information. I appeal to the police to lock up the suspect,” the deceased’s aunt told a local publication.
On her part, the grandmother to the deceased bitterly wondered how one could kill her grandson who was full of life. She expressed that the unfortunate incident has robbed them of someone special to them and echoed that the police should intervene.
“Nimehuzunika kumpoteza mjukuu kwa jia ghafla kama hii, hatukupendezwa na kifo cha Saul, anakuanga mtoto mwenye furaha. Sasa ata sisi tumeshindwa ni nini ilitendeka huko. Nini ilifanya huyo kijana akamaliza Saul. Tumehuzunika sisi kama wazazi,” she stated.
This loosely translates to: “I am saddened by the death of my grandchild. Saul was a happy man. We are wondering what made his attacker kill him. We are deeply hurt as parents,”
