Venue for Kenya Police CAF CC opener confirmed

Kenya Police FC have confirmed the details for their CAF Confederation Cup opener as they prepare for their continental debut.
The match against Ethiopian Coffee is scheduled to take place at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday, August 18, at 3:00 p.m.

The clash is open to all fans, as the team seeks full support in their bid to advance to the next round of the competition.
“This Sunday, August 18th, we are set to face Ethiopian Coffee in our first-ever CAF Confederation Cup match. Date: Sunday, August 18th, Kick-off: 3:00 p.m., Venue: Nyayo Stadium. Entry is free,” the club announced.
Following this match, Police FC will travel to Ethiopia for the return leg as they aim to qualify for the next round.
The aggregate winner of this two-legged tie will face Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek in the second preliminary round.
In preparation for the match, Kenya Police FC have strengthened their squad with several new signings.
Goalkeeper Samuel Njau has joined the team, along with defenders Daniel Sakari and Geoffrey Onyango. Midfield reinforcements include Brian Musa and Jackson Macharia, while wingers Jaffari Owiti and Eric Zakayo have also been added to the roster. Strikers Alfred Leku (from Uganda) and Abdou Karim Samb (from Senegal) complete the new signings.
Kenya Police qualification
Kenya Police qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup after clinching the 2024 FKF Cup title, defeating KCB 8-7 in a penalty shootout following a 0-0 draw in regulation and extra time.
Patrick Matasi scored the winning penalty, securing a CAF Confederation Cup slot and Ksh 2 million for the club.
Goalkeeper Patrick Matasi also had an impressive tournament, maintaining four clean sheets and earning the Golden Glove award.
The 2024–25 CAF Confederation Cup will be the 22nd edition of the tournament and the 50th overall season of Africa’s secondary club football competition organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The winners will automatically qualify for the next edition and will earn the right to compete against the winners of the 2024–25 CAF Champions League in the 2025 CAF Super Cup.
