Ulinzi set for Equity KBF clash

Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men’s league title contenders Ulinzi Warriors take on Equity Bank and World Hope this weekend as the league enters homestretch.
The soldiers are currently second on the log, a point behind Thunder who have played one more match. They need wins in all their remaining matches to finish the regular league top of the standings.
The William Balozi-coached side are coming off a huge win, last weekend, against bottom placed United States International University of Africa (USIU-Africa).
On their part, the bankers are seeking to redeem themselves from last weekend’s loss to Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) with a win against the soldiers likely to take them to third place at the end of regular season if they do not drop any points in the remaining matches.
“We have trained very well as we were scheduled to play two tough matches against Equity and Thunder before the change in fixtures.
“We are out to clinch maximum points as this is a crucial time in the league. Despite having won against the two sides in the first leg, there will be no complacency on our part, “ said Balozi.
On their part, Embakasi Youth (EMYBA) currently fifth on the log after eight wins in 18 matches are on the road where they take on Kisumu Lakeside and Eldonets on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Kisumu are fighting relegation, currently in third last in the 12-team league at four wins in 16 matches, and a win against the Nairobians will help them escape the axe.
EMYBA are in a fight of their own as they seek to maintain fifth place which is under threat from their Sunday opponents Eldonets. A win against Kisumu will secure fifth position for EMYBA even before facing the Eldonets who are sixth but tied on eight wins with the former.
