President Uhuru Kenyatta has moved Correctional Services Principal Secretary (PS) Zeinab Hussein to State department of Tourism in the latest changes in government.

“You have been re-assigned from your current duties as the Principal Secretary of State Department of Correctional Services to the same rank in the State Department of Tourism. You are requested to prepare comprehensive handing over notes to facilitate a smooth transition and hand over to the incoming Principal Secretary,” a letter from the president seen by People Daily Digital read in part.

Zeinab has been replaced by Safina Kwekwe, who was the Gender Affairs Principal Secretary (PS).

Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Deputy Director-General Kang’ethe Thuku has also been named as Correctional services Chief Administrative Secretary.

Thuku takes over a position under public scrutiny following the recent cases of prison break at the Kamiti Maximum prison.

The incident forced President Uhuru to appoint Brigadier (Rtd.) John Kibaso Warioba to replace Wycliffe Ogalo as the Commissioner General of Prisons.

Prior to Thuku’s appointment as NMS Deputy DG, he served as the Interior Principal Secretary in the Office of the President.
